When your vision is from God

Dear Reader.

I pray that this piece may be exactly what God intended for you to read. May it heal and empower your soul to be everything He has called you to be.

The first thing that came to my mind when sister Kim asked me to write a message on vision was “I am not as good as my husband when it comes to teaching about this topic”. Few years back when we met at varsity in my 3rd year of study he was (and still is) vision personified. I had never met anyone with a crazy idea of His future self inspired by crazy faith as him. His life and vision challenged me to dream even bigger. So as I thought of How I would teach something that My husband is an expert on (According to me), The Spirit of God told me to use His life to write this message. The Holy Spirit came to the rescue as always.

I know that the world has defined vision for us but let me tell you what I believe vision is. Vision is the ability to see into the heavenly picture of you and aspire to become who God says you are. To see yourself beyond where you are you need to align your thoughts with God’s perception of you. Who God says you are will always be beyond your current state and you can fully comprehend your identity through the one who knows you more that yourself. It does not matter what season of life you’re in, you can become all that God says you are when you believe.

Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest – Jesus (John 4:35)

One thing I noticed about Charmy (My husband) was that although his vision was beyond where his life was and definitely not in line with his financial state at the time, that didn’t stop him from constantly declaring who he is according to God’s Word. He even wrote his vision on a wall paper with the exact time frame each goal was going to be accomplished. Over the years of being together I saw God going even beyond Charmy’s vision board. I realized that it was due to the fact that he fully trusted what God said and aligned his speech with that.

Child of God, make a resolution today to completely believe God’s Word, see yourself beyond where you are and confess who you are in Him. Jesus tells us in the above mentioned scripture to ‘lift up our eyes’ beyond the natural timeline of how things are supposed to be ‘and see that the fields are white for harvest’. The time for you to stop settling and grow into who you really are is now. I normally encourage Charmy to not be discouraged by what he sees but to understand that he is everything that God has called him to be. All he is waiting for is the manifestation in to the physical realm.

So I am encouraging you today to lift up your eyes. Let your vision grow and scare you. Do not limit God by only focusing on who you currently are. Let your faith be without limits and you will see the goodness of God in the land of the  living.
